Giles Penman (Bolton Bugle) Weekly Album Review.

Well, here it is at last. The long-awaited Greatest Hits album from STB. Love him or loath him, you can't deny Burn's perfectionism and work ethic. Not for him the easy option of digitally re-mastering all the old tracks. Every song has been lovingly and painstakingly re-recorded, resulting in a fresh, bright sound which runs all the way through the album.
Burns takes us on an epic musical journey through the years, from the raw vitality of 70's tracks such as "Burning Embers" and "Bye Bye Baby", through the more studied and sophisticated offerings of the 80's like "Crime Don't Pay" and "Bernadette", right up to the mature and confident songs of the 90's, such as "She's a Zombie".
Don't expect to find ALL your favourites here, as STB intends to release a Greatest Hits Volume 2 in the near future.
I, for one, can't wait.
(PS, if anyone's reading this, can you please help me? All I know is that they have driven me blindfolded to a remote farmhouse which I think must be within a five-mile radius of Stockton-on- Tees, and forced me to write these terrible things. I managed to add this bit on after they had read the original proof, but it's incredibly hard typing with your nose while chained to a radiator).

Hank Bobcat has recorded some tracks with Sebastian T. Burn during his whirlwind 2009 UK tour.The tracks will appear on STB's eagerly-awaited "Greatest Hits" album. (IT CAN NOW BE ANNOUNCED THAT THEY ARE: ASHES TO ASHES & STAY AWAY FROM MY BEER)  Advance orders are going through the roof, following the incredible success of his last offering, "Half a Century Boy", although strangely, the vast majority of sales seemed to be in the north-east town of Stockton-on-Tees, and STB is complaining that he can no longer get his car in his garage. Bobcat rounded off his highly successful tour with an impromptu appearance at the "Our House" pub in Leigh, ably assisted by Franz Field, Skid Marx, and a drummer who goes by the curious name of Paul Pownall. Hank rolled back the years with a fine vocal performance on "Bad Moon Rising", then laid down some great guitar on "Mustang Sally" and "Let's Stick Together".
